This is a one day conference for

The event will take place at the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel, 1210 First Avenue, King of Prussia,  PA on Friday, October 29, 2010.  The day will begin with a welcome coffee at 8:30 am and conclude by 5:00 pm. 

WORKING TOGETHER is a conference designed to attract a varied group of people with employment as the main focus. The conference will include

The program will begin with a plenary session presented by Marcia Finisdore, HLA-PA State Director Emerita, explaining the impact of hearing loss on work and life. This will be followed by concurrent workshops of the attendee’s choice. During the lunch break, a keynote address given by Brenda Battat, Executive Director of Hearing Loss Association of America will look at hiring people with disabilities from the employer’s perspective.  Following lunch, attendees will choose to visit workshops of their choice once again.  The afternoon will conclude with a plenary session panel which will focus on the topic, “Working with a Hearing Loss”. 

A variety of workshops running concurrently will address subjects such as:

The exhibit hall will feature appropriate vendors providing important information on assistive equipment, resources, and job placement. The Exhibitors will be available all day with special breaks in between workshops as well.

Real time captioning (CART), assistive listening devices, and ASL interpreters will ensure that all presentations are accessible to those with hearing loss.

The cost is $40.00 per person or $70.00 for a student accompanied by a parent. Welcome coffee and buffet lunch is included in this cost.
